美國灌排協(xié)會(huì)和佛羅里達(dá)州的灌溉協(xié)會(huì)宣布將在11月2-6日佛羅里達(dá)州的奧蘭多聯(lián)合舉辦一個(gè)全新的、具有創(chuàng)造性的灌溉展和教育工作會(huì)議。這兩個(gè)組織的代表們定期開會(huì)，制定了一定的活動(dòng)規(guī)劃來迎接這次在佛羅里達(dá)州舉辦灌溉展的挑戰(zhàn)。北佛羅里達(dá)州灌溉設(shè)備兼2012年的FIS總裁MattEaton說：“我們很高興榮幸能參與這次活動(dòng)，并插入一些具有地方特色的傳統(tǒng)產(chǎn)品。”
    在IA展覽咨詢委員會(huì)工作的FIS的志愿者圍繞著這次為期兩天的展會(huì)正在籌劃著獨(dú)特的方案。他們計(jì)劃除了IA的傳統(tǒng)課程外，會(huì)在灌溉實(shí)踐改革創(chuàng)新方面提供更多的研討會(huì)，并提供信貸到繼續(xù)教育單位。此外，他們會(huì)推動(dòng)農(nóng)業(yè)和園林學(xué)校的學(xué)生將灌溉行業(yè)作為職業(yè)發(fā)展之路。
    IA執(zhí)行主任DeborahHamlin說：“這是如此重要，包括當(dāng)?shù)氐墓喔壬鐓^(qū)會(huì)接觸灌溉展等活動(dòng)的策劃和執(zhí)行，并提供專業(yè)知識(shí)，這是無價(jià)的，對(duì)我們來說是雙贏的結(jié)果。
IA和FIS代表們還將尋求其他國家和地區(qū)協(xié)會(huì)一起加入IA的“促銷合作伙伴”計(jì)劃，加盟的合作伙伴可以通過免費(fèi)通行證推廣此次灌溉展來賺取一部分利潤。“我們有這么多的園林和農(nóng)業(yè)社區(qū)，我們會(huì)確保每一個(gè)相關(guān)的組織有機(jī)會(huì)參與。”
    Hamlin繼續(xù)說道，“IA已經(jīng)開始讓其在德克薩斯州的分支機(jī)構(gòu)協(xié)助舉辦2013年在Austin的灌溉展。

IA and Florida Irrigation Society Collaborate on 2012 Irrigation ShowThe Irrigation Association and the Florida Irrigation Society are pleased to announce a partnership to deliver a fresh and innovative Irrigation Show and Education Conference, Nov. 2 to 6, in Orlando, Fla. Representatives from both organizations have been meeting regularly to develop programming and activities that embrace Florida's unique irrigation challenges. "We are pleased to be a part of this great event and to insert some local flavor into its traditional offerings," said Matt Eaton of North Florida Irrigation Equipment and 2012 FIS president.
Working in concert with IA's Expo Advisory Committee, FIS volunteers are helping to build a unique program around the new two-day show. Plans are underway to offer more seminars on innovations in irrigation practices, in addition to IA’s traditional howto classes. All will offer credit for continuing education units. In addition, there will be a special push to bring in students from both the agriculture and landscape schools, promoting irrigation as a career path.
"Its so important to include the local irrigation community in the planning and execution of an event like the Irrigation Show. They have the contacts and expertise that are invaluable to us," says IA Executive Director Deborah Hamlin. "It’s a win-win for both organizations."
IA and FIS representatives will also be seeking other state and regional associations to take part in IA's "promotional partner" program, where free passes can be earned for promotion of the Irrigation Show. "We have so much to offer both the landscape and agriculture community, and our job is to make sure that every related organization has the opportunity to participate."
Hamlin added that IA is already looking to IA's Texas affiliates to help with the 2013 Irrigation Show planning in Austin.
